4.0 [New Enhancements] Inventory Comparison with eBay
The Inventory comparison tabs allows the Opencart store owners review and compare product stock available or quantity in their OpenCart store with the stock listed on eBay. This makes it easy to spot quantity differences and keep product availability consistent across both platforms.
By regularly checking this section, sellers can reduce the risk of overselling, avoid out-of-stock situations, and maintain smooth inventory management without manual checks.
The comparison process runs through two cron jobs that work together to collect and verify inventory data.
4.0.1 Fetch eBay Stock Data through Submit a Request to fetch eBay Inventory Cron
This scheduled cron fetches the latest product quantity details directly from your connected eBay account. When the cron runs, the fetched stock values are stored and displayed in the Inventory comparison section for reference.
Running this task ensures that the system always has updated eBay stock information ready for comparison.
4.0.2 Verify Inventory Data Using Process Last Inventory Request Cron
After the eBay inventory is fetched, this cron job compares the retrieved eBay quantities with the current inventory on your opencart. Furthermore, based on the comparison, this feature flags Yes or No depending on whether the stock values match or differ.
The results are clearly shown in the Inventory Comparison tab, helping store owners take quick action when needed.
4.1 API Usage & Rate Limit Monitoring
The Opencart eBay Marketplace Extension provides an API usage monitoring feature that helps track all eBay API interactions. Furthermore, it shows how many times each API has been called, along with the total limit and remaining available calls.
When an API request reaches or goes beyond the permitted limit, this feature automatically shows in the tab. This helps prevent interruptions and ensures the smooth operation of all syncing processes.
