Brevo (formerly SendInBlue) and Mailchimp, two prominent players in this field, have recently made significant changes in their APIs. In this article, we will delve deeper into the key changes and improvements.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.knowband.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/Blog-Banner-2.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-821126\" src=\"https:\/\/www.knowband.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/Blog-Banner-2.png\" alt=\"SendinBlue and Mailchimp APIs\" width=\"760\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.knowband.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/Blog-Banner-2.png 760w, https:\/\/www.knowband.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/Blog-Banner-2-300x118.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 760px) 100vw, 760px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><b>Mailchimp: &#8211;<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The new version of API 3.0 has been released and version 2.0 has been shut off on June 1, 2023.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The new root URL for the API is\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">https:\/\/&lt;dc&gt;.api.mailchimp.com\/3.0\/<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">where &lt;dc&gt; defines the data center.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You can easily find your data center at the end of the API key as the keys are in the form of key-dc.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Here, we have mentioned the major change in adding the subscriber to a list.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The method of adding members to a list has been changed.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The path has been changed from <\/span><b>lists\/subscribe<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To <\/span><b>lists\/_listid_\/members<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0Where <\/span><b>_listid_<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> is the list ID in which you want to add the subscriber.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Along with that, if you want to send some additional data for the subscriber after the request, then you can use the patch request.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Patch Request is used for performing partial updates.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Use the below path for the patch request<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>lists\/_listid_\/members\/_subscriber_hash_<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Where <\/span><b>_listid_<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> is the list ID in which you have added the subscriber.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">And <\/span><b>_subscriber_hash_<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> is the hash of the subscriber email.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Similarly, the method of fetching the lists has been changed. GET Method is used to fetch the lists. Earlier the path parameter used was lists\/list This has been changed with the lists only<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For more information regarding the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.knowband.com\/blog\/user-manual\/get-mailchimp-api-key-setup-email-list\/\">Mailchimp API <\/a>v3, please refer to the API Doc:-<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/mailchimp.com\/developer\/marketing\/api\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">https:\/\/mailchimp.com\/developer\/marketing\/api\/<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><b>Brevo (Formerly Sendinblue): &#8211;<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Sendinblue was started as a Newsletter Service. But now they also deliver email, SMS, WhatsApp, chat.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Earlier the root URL for the API was<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/api.sendinblue.com\/v2.0\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">https:\/\/api.sendinblue.com\/v2.0<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">which has now been changed to the\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/api.brevo.com\/v3\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">https:\/\/api.brevo.com\/v3<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">which clearly shows the changes in the name of the API regarding Sendinblue renamed to Brevo along with the change in the API version.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For contacts, we use contacts also as a part of the root URL<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/api.brevo.com\/v3\/contacts\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">https:\/\/api.brevo.com\/v3\/contacts\/<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To fetch all the lists from the Brevo, the GET method is used, earlier the function used was \u2018list\u2019 which has been changed to lists.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We can pass the limit also with the request if we want to fetch limited lists.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In a similar way, we can add\/update the subscribers in the lists.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To add\/ update the subscribers, an earlier <\/span><b>user\/created user<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0function was used which has now been replaced with the contacts.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Passing the subscriber&#8217;s email or mobile number with country code is mandatory.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Also, you can pass the first name and last name of the subscriber in the attributes.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you want to update the subscribers in the same request, then pass update Enabled as true.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Also, we need to pass a list of IDs of the lists present at the Brevo in which we want to add the subscriber.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I hope I have the necessary information about the Brevo API key changes.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For more information regarding the Brevo API changes, please refer to the Doc of the API-<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/developers.brevo.com\/reference\/intro\/my-requests\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">https:\/\/developers.brevo.com\/reference\/intro\/my-requests<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>\u201cYour goal should be to own quality time in your customer\u2019s inbox.\u201d \u2013 Drew Davis\u00a0 Digital Marketing is a major pillar of increasing sales and it is evolving day by day.
